I'm Jacqui, owner and Creative Director of Jac Slade Print Studio.
I’m a Surface Pattern Designer from the beautiful Central Coast near Sydney, Australia. I love sketching flowers, birds, and animals and turning them into bright, bold and fun surface designs that enliven your day. Most days you’ll find me in my home studio, cup of tea in hand, designing and illustrating. I’m totally obsessed with vintage designs, wallpaper, textiles and all things floral.
Creative Life
My work has been described as bright, bold and sophisticated with a modern vintage vibe. I love vintage florals, designs from the arts and crafts era, indian florals, japanese kimonos and russian textiles.
I’ve always been involved with art and can’t remember ever not drawing or obsessing over colour, books or beautiful stationery. I trained as a Graphic Designer with a Bachelor or Arts degree majoring in Graphic Design and proceeded to then work as a Graphic Designer, Art Director and freelance designer in the marketing sectors. After 17 years and a variety of design roles I found Surface Design and it was my ‘light bulb’ moment. I very quickly fell in love with the world of patterns and textiles and knew instantly this was where I wanted my career to go.
Coming from a graphic design background is such an asset when working with patterns. I can use my technical skills to apply to creating seamless repeating tiles, understanding colour, printing and prepress processes.
As a designer and artist I’m always hungry to keep learning and exploring. I love to travel and experience new places and cultures to fuel inspiration. I also love following the fashion catwalks for the latest trends and colours.

All my designs begin with hand or digitally drawn or painted elements, to create unique vintage inspired prints with a bohemian beach vibe.
